Student Feedback

A big woman
With big eyes
And a big smile..
                       -Ahmet

Someone who knows her job well, cute, controls her feelings, doesn’t tolerate failure and insistent that we overcome failures and result-oriented. She doesn’t have unsuccessful students at school because she won’t let this happen. -Ozcan

I think you’re a perfect instructor. It’s impossible not to admire you, your style, manners and format. When you teach, you give from yourself. Both your effort and altruism keep your students alive. You influence us especially through your body language, gestures and fantastic appearance. In a word, you’re super. Thank you very much. -Anonymous

Her dialogue with her students is very good. She is a masterful teacher who has a good command of her classroom; therefore, she knows how to teach what. Her energy is high. She uses her body language well and it’s impossible to sleep in her lessons as she’s like a jack-in-the-box. Although it’s sometimes hard to understand her as she never speaks in Turkish with her students either in or out of the classroom, this has benefited us a lot in the long run. She’s a teacher whose lessons I took the most pleasure in. -Anonymous

She projects her energy to her students very well. When we don’t understand, we feel anxious, but through her professionalism, tone of voice and intonation, she calms us down so we can learn better.  She uses a variety of examples to teach us until we learn a topic, and we never get bored. She uses her facial expressions so well that I can understand the words I don’t know by looking at her face. I’m always positively influenced by her. -Ilker

She’s very energetic and shines brightly. She’s very positive about life and good at her job. She’s excited and it shows through her energy and love. As a teacher, she constantly keeps her students activated. My time is spent effectively in her lessons. Even though they are long, she keeps them dynamic with videos, and other methods that keep the lessons flowing and that don’t tire us out. -Anonymous

I like the way you instruct very much and I never realise how the time passes in your class. Time goes by very quickly and I am always disappointed when the lesson is over.  You use a really different method in your classes. You combine your knowledge with your emotions and instead of saying “take it or not” you transfer the knowledge whether the other person wants it or not.  This is a talent and I think your students are very lucky. I used to hate English, but you made me love it in the same way I love drama or the theater. You’re amazing. -Zevcet

She has an incredible energy reserve which sometimes scares us. She goes into a trance while teaching. Her “Dont’s” and stamps are unforgettable.  I’m lucky to have met her. –Selen Ç.

You’ve been my teacher at NLP Group, the first place I came to learn English. I think she’s the one whose lessons I learnt best thanks to her energy and smile. I’ve spent the most energetic hours with her as she lifted up my energy. Thank you for working hard to teach us the best. I admire your energy and you’re always the last to leave the building. It’s obvious that you like your job very much and you reflect this energy on to us. I love you.-Nilgün

My elective English course has been the most fun out of all the other classes we’ve studied this year. Although we’ve had a few hours of elective English per week, it has been our favourite course, and I know for sure that my classmates agree with me on this. Thank you very much for all the lessons we’ve had throughout the year and for everything you’ve taught us. Moreover, you’re the only teacher who assessed our oral performance independently of written exam marks. You’re so special. I love you very much. –Ebru G.

The difference between your class and the others is obvious. Thank you very much for being a different teacher by understanding the students better, not fighting against your students, but understanding your students like a friend. This is the first time in my life that I’ve read a book in English from beginning to end and understanding all the words in it. In addition, you establish your authority so well that you don’t struggle to control us by getting angry or telling us off. You know how to deal with us very well. Thank you very much for both shouting at us and loving us, both being understanding and teaching us, and never accepting “no” as a reply. -Ece P.

Your English courses have been the best and the most enjoyable courses I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you very much. The books might not have been so helpful but the lessons in which you taught how to become a good person have been very beneficial. I’m not exaggerating when I say this, but you’re the most professional and the best teacher I’ve ever had. –Yiğit Y.

During the first few lessons, I thought English class would be boring. I used to say to myself that we already have English as a subject so this elective English is unnecessary, and I’ve read so many books in English that I don’t need this course. But then everything changed. This course has become my favourite, and the one in which I had a lot of fun. I used to think that I’d sleep in this class but then I started to look forward to it. My former knowledge of English turned out to be my advantage. I didn’t use to care about English classes and I used to think that it was a waste of time; however, this has completely changed thanks to you. And this is the least of all the things I have to thank you for. Thank you. –Aslı T.

At the beginning of the year, you seemed like a very unusual teacher. Frankly speaking, I felt uneasy about the way you looked from the outside, since you looked like you were above us. But soon after you started to teach us and I got to know you, I came to realise that you’re one of the exceptional teachers who really understood us. When you talked to me after my dad passed away, I really saw your sincerity. You talked to me as if you were my friend not my teacher and I didn’t hesitate to share with you. You kept believing in me although I got failing marks on the exams, and you told me that you believed that I’d succeed. I can’t express how happy I felt and how you really gave me moral support. I believe there are very few teachers who understand me at this school and you’re one of them. Thank you so very much for everything you’ve given me this year. –Bestemsu Ö.

People come into your life and people leave. You feel sad when they leave, and lost with the emptiness created by their departure. Some of the farewells hurt you so much that you can hardly breathe. When I look back now, you’ll always be one of these people whom I’ll always remember. Instead of feeling sad about your absence, I’ll smile when I think of you and the positive energy you’ve given me and say “I’m happy that I got to know her.” I may not have lived or seen many things in my life yet, but I got to know you. I’ve learnt many things from you. We’ve learnt many things from you. You’ve always embraced us with the same love no matter what. When I was feeling down, I smiled when I saw your face. You shared your secrets, happiness and sadness with us. You’ve taught us what love is like. Be sure that nothing can compensate for your absence. I’m grateful for everything you’ve taught us and letting us cherish the warmth of your love. You’ve always been who you are. I hope the best of everything for you. –Gizem Y.

You’re the best English teacher one could have. Thanks to your energy and ever-lasting smile, you are not only a teacher but also a trustworthy friend.
The best contribution of this school has been you. If I can speak English now, I owe it to you. I love your educational insight, honesty, sincerity, smiling face, your accent while speaking English, your voice while speaking Turkish, your French, chocolate, attitudes and everything about you. -Anonymous

This is the first time in my life that I felt so happy to attend English classes. I’ve never seen a teacher like her, who has shown us her love, with a smiling face and sincerity. She’s the most warm-hearted and sweetest teacher I’ve ever known. I’ve attended English classes for eight years but I’ve never had so much fun in any of them.Attending Ms. Sarioz’s class is more like fun than a lesson. I’m so happy to have been her student. –Begüm A.

Thanks to Ms. Sarioz, I’ve seen that teachers can become friends and confidants of students. While learning a foreign language, I learnt that it’s not the number of hours that count but the efficiency of lessons. Thank you very much for helping us with every single thing we’ve done and for appreciating our work. –Doğa K.

This year has been the most pleasant and enjoyable year I’ve had in 12 years of my life of learning English. My English teacher I’ve had this year is the best English teacher I’ve had so far. She is probably the best teacher I’ve ever had. While presenting the end-of-the-year show, I took a lot of pleasure in every moment of playing a part, rehearsing and performing on stage. –Naz A.

It has been a wonderful year. I’ve had hard times because of the exams and assignments but thanks to Ms. Sarioz, my English has improved a lot this year. We’ve had both enjoyable and difficult subjects but thanks to Ms. Sarioz, we’ve always got into and out of the English classes happily.  Fortunately, we’ve had a teacher like Ms. Sarioz. Although our books are very boring, she made them enjoyable. –Naz Ö.

We’ve done lot of activities throughout the year. We did a different activity in every lesson. We completed all the activities and assignments while having a lot of fun. For one year, we’ve had our English lessons projecting the book using the SMART board, thus every student in class participated in the lesson and it has become easier to follow the lesson. Apart from this, Ms. Sarioz’s teaching method has been enjoyable. She got every student to listen and participate. We learned English vocabulary by playing games to review the lessons at the end of the year. The lessons have been a lot of fun and flowed easily. Thank you. –Karla M.

On the first day you got into the classroom, I thought you’d give me a headache. However, you proved me wrong as time went by. That was the first lesson you taught to me. Although you’ve taught us many things about life, that was the one I made use of a lot. I hope your future will be far more beautiful than your past. –Mengü B.

Ms. Sarioz is a teacher who scared me when I first saw her in the school courtyard, but later I felt lucky to have her among many things in my life. She’s got a big heart with a small and petite presence. She’s always been and will always be different and special for us not only for making us love English over the past two years but above all approaching us like a sister and a friend, more than a teacher, and for making us feel her support by backing us up both as a class and individually. Thank you. –Hande A.

I’ve had so many teachers I’ve loved in my life but you are unique. I love your shouting, state of mind and smiling; I love everything about you. You’re completely different. I think taking care of all of us as if we were your children is more than love of one's job. I thank you very much both on my and my friends’ behalf for all the effort you’ve made for us. –Serra İ.

On the first day in the classroom, I remember thinking “We’re in big trouble”. I started to change my mind over time. You’ve always been a teacher who supports us under any condition; someone we can trust so much to share everything; someone who can be sweet even when angry and someone to stand up for us against everyone. I love your beauty, cuteness, sincerity and even your authority. There is not much to say if I didn’t get bored even in English class. Endless thanks for approaching us more like a close friend than a teacher and for standing by us at all times. You’re the only one I’ll never forget. –Ecem G.

Someone who is in love with her job, is capable of doing everything at her best and a powerful woman who can defend all the rights she has to the end but who is sometimes stubborn and gets what she wants and a perfect person to stand by her students at all times. I would never believe if someone had told me how much I’d love you, a teacher I disliked when I met her at first. In the past two years, you’ve been our mother, teacher, friend and advocate when needed. Thank you very much for everything. I love you very much. –Ece Ö.

Thank you very much for showing us what a real teacher is like and letting us experience this feeling. –Nazlı U.

Since the first day I saw you, I’ve understood that you’re a very unique person. In time, I’ve realized that I was right about this, because you aren’t like the other teachers. You have not approached us only like a teacher but also like a sister and a friend. You’ve always given us positive energy with your endless energy and joy. You’ve always stood by us in every matter. You’ve always supported us and guided us by listening to all of our problems. I feel very lucky and happy to have met someone like you because we don’t always meet people like you in life. I think it contributed a lot to myself and my life to know you. At least, I have good memories and a teacher I’ll always remember after I graduate from this school. I love you very much and I’ll never forget you. –Sıla U.

For me, your endless energy, providing us with positive energy in our bad times and always backing us up is living proof of this. I’m sure that after so many years, I’ll have a big smile on my face when I think about you. The one who has met Ms. Sarioz will never get to know her, but the one who has shared some things with her and who has lived through her is the one who knows her. Besides being a teacher, you’ve been a sister and a mother. Thank you. –Ece P.
